Obama is cool

Barack Obama is officially, certifiably, cool.

Exhibit A: Barack Obama appears on the Colbert Report and puts “manufactured political distractions” ON NOTICE. I’m not sure which I heartily approve of more, his willingness to call the press on their bullshit, or the suspicion I now have that he regularly watches the Report.

Exhibit B: Obama makes a lengthy appearance on The Daily Show, discusses his campaign and “hopes up” some common non-political phrases. Is much wittier than Hillary Clinton was in her appearance. Also has a much better satellite connection. Obviously cares much more about the American people (’s viewing pleasure) than Hillary does. I now also suspect that he watches The Daily Show.

Bonus Exhibits C and D:

Hillary and Edwards make personal appearances on the Colbert Report. Hillary is lame, unfunny, and only serves to set up Obama’s appearance later. Edwards does a very funny “Ed-Words” bit about espionage and jet skis. I now suspect that he, too, is a Report watcher and am glad I voted for him in the Illinois primary before he dropped out.

    I thought Edwards was great. I actually found him so personable that I’m now kind of hoping he ends up as Obama’s VP. Although I also like Bill Richardson for VP. Hillary and her insanity needs to just go away.

    Election Blog: I totally agree. I was originally hoping for Edwards/Obama, but Obama/Edwards would make me very, very happy.

    Why is it that all politicians become more appealing after they’ve stopped running for office? I mean, even Bob Doyle, fer heaven’s sake! He went on Saturday Night Live after he gave up trying to be president, and stood up on stage next to his SNL doppelganger making fun of the impersonator’s impressions. A lot more interesting than any of his campaign speeches.
    Why?
