Which part of ‘no religious test for office’ do you not understand?
Thursday, December 21st, 2006Douchebag Virginia Representative Virgil Goode recently put his grubby, bigoted fingers down his throat and retched the following:
December 7, 2006 Dear . . . Thank you for your recent communication. When I raise my hand to take the oath on Swearing In Day, I will have the Bible in my other hand. I do not subscribe to using the Koran in any way.
Too bad you’ve got such a hard-on for your holy book when maybe you should be paying a little more attention to the Constitution — you know, that thing you’re swearing to uphold? The thing that says this?
United States Constitution, Article VI:
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the members of the several state legislatures, and all executive and judicial officers, both of the United States and of the several states, shall be bound by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.
Look, I even bolded the important part for you. Maybe you can get one of your assistants to read it to you.
The Muslim Representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district and if American citizens don’t wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Koran.
OH MY GOD!! You mean non-Christians are allowed to hold public office in this country?? Oh, wait… that’s always been true, whether you like it or not. Why don’t you just get over yourself, asshole. And quit referring to yourself in the third person. Chicken Girl thinks that’s moronic.
We need to stop illegal immigration totally and reduce legal immigration and end the diversity visas policy pushed hard by President Clinton and allowing many persons from the Middle East to come to this country. I fear that in the next century we will have many more Muslims in the United States if we do not adopt the strict immigration policies that I believe are necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to the United States of America and to prevent our resources from being swamped.
Wait, I thought it was the Mexicans who were going to take all of our jobs? You guys need to get your propaganda straight. I wonder what it is you really mean by “values and beliefs traditional to the United States of America”, hmm? Could you mean your values? Why don’t you just come out and say it, asswipe? You think Christianity should be the state religion, because you’re a treasonous, bigoted fuckhead. Yeah, that’s right, treasonous. Unlike you, the Founding Fathers learned from history and they explicitly created the United States without a state religion for a reason — to protect people like me from people like you who think you have any business telling the rest of us how to live our lives. Go fuck yourself. Seriously. And the Muslims? Bring ‘em on!
The Ten Commandments and “In God We Trust” are on the wall in my office. A Muslim student came by the office and asked why I did not have anything on my wall about the Koran. My response was clear, “As long as I have the honor of representing the citizens of the 5th District of Virginia in the United States House of Representatives, The Koran is not going to be on the wall of my office.”
I don’t suppose you’ve ever thought about putting, say, the Constitution on your wall? No? Not even the Bill of Rights? How about the Declaration of Independence? It seems clear where your interests lie, and I’m damned happy I don’t live in Virginia if you’re the asshole they elected to represent them. At least my Representative has got my back.
Merry fucking Christmas, Mr. Goode. You know, I think that Jesus guy you claim to love so much said something about “loving thy neighbor” and “rendering stuff unto Caesar”. You might want to think about that sometime.
